1. GENERAL
Intronics offers i-SAVE 1004 an energy saving device used in the hotel’s guestroom. The system also provides the thermostat for the air conditioning system. There are two lighting circuits, one is connected to Normal power supply while the other is connected to Emergency power supply.
When Key card is pulled out of Key box, the system will cut off the power supplied to the lightings and outlets. For the air conditioner, it can be programmed either to be turned off or raised up the setting temperature to 27 ºC with low fan speed. The system also provides the facility to put “Do not disturb/Make up room” sign on the Front panel and also the built – in bell.

i-SAVE 1004 is equipped with the following devices :

1.1 Relay unit : Relay unit : which is a microprocessor controlled device used to control the lightings, outlets and air conditioner. It provides the following relays

Relay Unit 1003-1004

  • Relay 1 : 20 A (resistive load), 220 Vac from emergency power supply for lightings.
  • Relay 2 : 20 A (resistive load), 220 Vac from normal power supply for lightings.
  • Relay 3 : 20 A (resistive load), 220 Vac for outlets.
  • Note : For the specific outlets (such as for refrigerator) that the power can not be cut off, these outlets shall be connected directly to the power supply.

  • Relays 4 – 6 : 5 A (resistive load), 220 Vac for air conditioner’s fan motor.
  • Relay 7 : 5 A (resistive load), 220 Vac for air conditioner’s compressor/valve.

1.2 Key box : There are 3 types of Key box.

Keybox

  • Micro switch type : Any type of Key tag or Key card can be used. When key tag is inserted into the box, the system will turn on all relays.
  • Magnet type : There are magnet and reed switch inside the box. It is used with Key tag which has the steel plate between plastic sheets. When key tag is inserted into the box, Electromagnetic field will be disturbed. The system will turn on all relays.

  • Photo reflect type : It is used with magnetic strip or chip card by sensing the dark and light colors of Key card at 2 spots. When key tag is inserted into the box and the dark and light colors of the card are at correct predetermined spots, the system will turn on all relays.

1.3 Thermostat : The keypad is a wall mounted with LED display. The main control is integrated in the Relay unit. Relays for both fan speed & compressor at 220 Vac are 5A (resistive load).

1.4 Front panel : is installed outside the room. It is used to display “Do not disturb” or “Make up room” sign. By pressing the button on the Service switch, the relevant sign will be lit. There is also Bell button to activate the electronic bell which is built in the system. When “Do not disturb” sign is lit, the bell is deactivated.

1.5 Service switch panel : is installed inside the room. It is used to activate “Do not disturb” or “Make up room” sign on the Front panel. Both signs are interlocked that only one can be lit.

1.6 Master switch (optional) : This switch is used as the Master switch to turn on/off the lightings.

1.7 Speaker : is provided for the Bell feature.

2. FEATURES

2.1 Energy savings : When Key card is pulled out from Key box, after a predetermined delay time the system will cut off the power supplied to the lightings and outlets. For the air conditioner, it can be programmed either to be turned off or raised up the setting temperature to 27 ºC with low fan speed. When Key card is inserted into Key box, the system will supply the power to all equipment. The air conditioner will operate as per the last settings.

2.2 Air conditioner control : The system provides all controls by using the buttons on the Key pad of the thermostat. They are

  • Power on/off
  • Temperature setting
  • Fan speed (high, medium, low, auto)
  • Cool / Fan mode

2.3 Master Switch (optional): Master switch is used to turn on/off Relays 1 and 2 which are dedicated for lighting. The switch can be of Intronics or any Push button type.

2.4 Front panel display : The user can put “Do not disturb” or “Make up room” sign on the Front panel.

2.5 Bell : There is a built – in electronic bell in the system. When the BELL button on the Front panel is pressed while “Do not disturb” sign is not activated, the system will generate a pleasant chime at the speaker.

2.6 Programming : The user can

  • Set up the delay time to be 30 or 60 seconds.
  • Select the temperature setting range 15 – 30 ºC or 18 – 30 ºC.

2.7 Memory : All setting parameters including Do not disturb/Make up room are kept in a non-volatile memory. When there is a power failure and back to normal, the control will resume its operation with the same setting parameters.
